DISCOVER THE UNTOLD STORY OF vANPORT, OR
Join us for a meaningful journey as we explore the rise and sudden disappearance of Vanport—once Oregon’s second-largest city. Built as a wartime housing project, Vanport became home to a vibrant and diverse community. On Memorial Day 1948, a catastrophic flood destroyed the city in a single day.
We’ll visit the former site, hear firsthand accounts from survivors, and reflect on enduring lessons about race, housing, and resilience in America.
