community outreach
Acts 20:35 "In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive."
At The Congregational Church on Mercer Island, we are passionate about making sure we leave a lasting legacy for our children by taking care of God's Earth and valuing her resources. We also feel strongly about helping to ensure that the homeless have a place to sleep and a meal for sustenance.

Below are some of the organizations that we support and assist.
Operation Nightwatch
Operation Nightwatch, a Seattle Shelter and Ministry for more than 45 years, receives our donations of thousands of new white socks for the many homeless men, women, and children in Seattle.

Every month our congregation makes 150 sandwiches which we deliver to the Operation Nightwatch Dispatch Center. They are then given out that evening to unhoused people on the streets of Seattle.

Atlantic Street Center
CCMI is honored to serve low-income families in the Seattle area through the Atlantic Street Center's annual Toy Drive each December.
World Relief
For many years, CCMI has aided World Relief's efforts to support refugees, asylees, asylum seekers, and immigrants from around the world as they rebuild a sense of home and community in Western Washington.
Mercer Island Youth And Family Services
CCMI supports MIYFS which provides numerous services to the Mercer Island community including a Healthy Youth Initiative, food pantry, school and family counseling, emergency assistance, and many more.
Direct Relief Crisis Response
Since 1948, Direct Relief has provided disaster relief and recovery assistance to millions of people in need from around the world. CCMI is proud to support this important organization.
