Covenant means Love

Covenant means Love

The great cellist Mstislav Rostropovich was teaching a student. The boy had amazing technique and he played his piece without missing a note. Rostropovich complimented him. Then he said, "Now, play the piece again. And this time, play it as though if you don't love it enough, they'll take it away from you." The boy played again and the music was utterly transformed.

There is a world of difference between going through the motions (however skillfully) and really investing ourselves in something. Each year at CCMI, we invite our members and friends to invest themselves afresh. We covenant together -- our time, our energy, our financial support -- to create the church we feel God calling us to be. There is a letter on its way to you through the mail, but you can download it here. Please print out the last three pages and return them by November 30 so we can dedicate them in worship together on December 5. Thank you!
