THIS WEEK @ CCMI: Through May 14, 2019

Tuesday, May 14 - Monday, May 20, 2019

A message from Roberta

Dear friends, What an amazing feeling to have 87 people in church for the beginning of our “Seize Hope” series! Several of our visitors returned for week two. Thank you to everyone who extended invitations. I’ve been thinking about follow-up. Here are three requests. If one of your friends or family members came to a service, please stay in touch and be sure they know you would love to have them join us for the rest of the series (through June 9), or as many Sundays as they can. Lots of people will have had other plans for Mother’s Day, but see if they would like to come back this week. Offer a ride or invite them to lunch (or both!) Helena Cohen has planned two workshops for us, applying her expertise in trauma care to the feelings we may experience in facing climate reality. There is still time to sign up for the first workshop this coming Saturday morning. Email the office and Haneen will add you to the list. And mark your calendar for the second one, which is June 8. Finally, if you have been unable to attend yourself these last two Sundays, please come as often as you can over the next four. Our response to the climate challenge is important, on a par with the decision years ago to become open and affirming. We need to think seriously together about God’s call to us as a congregation. Thank you!

CCMI Events in Upcoming Weeks

Saturday, June 1 8:00 a.m. – Highway Clean up The group meets at church at 8:00, drives to the Bellevue Way exit on I-90, and picks up trash. This usually takes about an hour. The more hands, the faster the work gets done!

9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. -- Church Council retreat at the Malchams' house.

5:00 p.m. -- Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. Signup sheets are posted outside the office. You may sign up to be a host or to be a guest. If you are a host, you provide a place to eat and beverages. Let us know how many guests you can accommodate. If you are a guest you will bring part of the meal. What makes Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner special is that the hosts don’t know who’s coming to dinner and the guests just have a mystery address to go to.
