We acknowledge that we meet on the ancestral land of the Coast Salish people, including the Duwamish people past and present. We honor with gratitude the land itself and the Duwamish people who cared for it through the generations

Our Values: Open & Affirming

WELCOME to the Congregational Church on Mercer Island (CCMI) United Church of Christ!

We embrace God's First Commandment to "love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and love our neighbors as we love ourselves." Therefore, we, the members of CCMI, joyfully proclaim that we are unequivocally open to and affirming of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people into the worship, leadership and life of our congregation.

We seek to be an inclusive and respectful community for persons of every race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, family structure, faith background, physical or mental ability, religious opinion, social opinion, and economic circumstance. We affirm the dignity and worth of every person, and declare ourselves to be an Open and Affirming congregation who follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

We strive to respond to the needs of our community and world with practical deeds of love. We welcome individuals and families of every configuration into the full life and ministry of this church. We commit ourselves to continue exploring and living out what it means to be Open and Affirming in an ever changing world. Join us in our faith journey!
